In the wake of some pretty devastating losses in my life I did some thinking. And that thinking has brought me to this point: What am I doing to spread some joy? I can’t live my life trying to just make me happy. Maybe I can even get someone to crack a smile that needs to crack one.
I’ve had some pretty wild unknowns in my life but one thing I am sure of, 100% sure of, is I LOVE FOOD!! I may have hard things that come up in my journey through life, but food, food is always there for me…. and Mom, Mom is there too (Moms would kill me if I didn’t mention her in that statement).
I’m a simple guy. Not really one for extravagance. I love sports. Cowboys, Titans, Vols, Preds, Braves, and the Bulls. And who ever the underdog is on any given Saturday College football game. Even though I don’t have many material wishes I do like craftsman style houses, corvettes (a lot), the occasional glass of scotch, the occasional cigar, a glass of red wine, and what ever Apple product just came out (haha).
I travel for a living as a Healthcare Consultant. A job that was hard fought for, with about a year of straight unadulterated hustle, I landed it. And my company rocks! I’m so blessed! With travel comes some cool stuff like seeing the United States on the Clients dollar. But it’s not all glitz and glamor. It has cost me a few things in life. Maybe I’ll get into that if I have a particularly bad meal (but I don’t see that happening).
This job takes me to some very cool places and some very dull places, BUT one thing is for sure every place I have ever gone, has food. Good food, local favorites, staples of the communities, food! I’m not big into fine dinning or anything like that. Just “regular people food,” BBQ and burgers and the like. In my travels I get a bit alone, so I decided to start “this here” food blog. Just to keep me busy at night. Maybe it will only have 3 readers (My Moms, my Nan, and some hipster chick on the west coast searching obscure food blogs late at night so she can say “I read Raggamunchin before he had 27 readers.”) No matter to me. I’m going to have fun with it. You can read food critics talk about what is wrong with a meal and the depth of flavor if you want. I’m just gunna tell you how much I enjoyed the food/restaurant. Probably some info about the area I’m in. Maybe even some airport exploits, I seems to have a few crazy ones. I’ll probably bring some up, off the back log of food, travels, and places I’ve been.
This is just an introduction to set some context for folks if they stumble upon this ramblings of a food loving lunatic late at night. But something tells me context will not help too much.
Anyway. Hopefully this will bring you some smiles and inspire you to check out some of these places if you are ever out and about.
The Feast is On!!
